Fashion designer Nicole Richie has earned the title of celebrity mentor on the new NBC series Fashion Star according to People.

She will be joining singer Jessica Simpson, menswear designer John Varvatos and host Elle Macpherson who will all be working with aspiring designers as they compete for a chance to win the title of fashion star and a multi-million dollar contract that will allow them to start their own brands.

Richies fashion resume includes a House of Harlow jewelry collection, footwear, eye wear and handbag lines.

Not only does she have a successful womens collection, but also a maternity line called Pea in the Pod.

With such an extraordinary group of mentors and designers, the show looks promising.
