Michelle Williams had 'memorable' gown - Belfast Telegraph

Michelle William's opinion-dividing red carpet look was "memorable" despite receiving mixed reviews, according to a top stylist.

The Hollywood actress is famed for her quirky style and chic attire, and regularly arrives on the red carpet in eye-catching fashion.

Michelle wore a canary yellow Vera Wang gown to the 2006 Oscars, which divided fashionistas' opinion across the globe.

Celebrity stylist Kate Young, whose high profile clients include Natalie Portman, Michelle Williams and Hilary Swank, says Michelle's dress was headline-grabbing and "memorable", despite not being liked by everybody.

"Michelle Williams' yellow Vera Wang gown had mixed reviews at the time. Despite it being the Oscars, I wasn't worried because the most memorable images are the ones surrounded by a little controversy," she told Marie Claire magazine.

Kate likes to push the envelope when it comes to her celebrity clients. The fashion expert says there is a thin line between pushing fashion boundaries and not impressing people though.

"I like to defy expectations and divide opinion - although not too much," she said.
